Common washing machine faults we fix

If any of these sound familiar, it’s almost certainly something we’ve fixed before.

Not drainingOften a blocked pump filter, but can also be a faulty drain pump or a blocked hose. We diagnose it properly rather than guess.
Not spinningUsually a worn carbon brush, a broken drive belt, or a door lock fault stopping the spin cycle starting.
LeakingDoor seals, hose connections and pump seals are the most common culprits — left unchecked, leaks can damage flooring.
Door locked or won’t openUsually a faulty door interlock, though sometimes it’s simply mid-cycle. We can normally get it open safely.
Noisy or bangingOften worn drum bearings, or something caught between the drum and the outer tub.
Why We Fix White Goods

An engineer who turns up, and a price you agree first

We’re a local independent repair business, not a national call centre. You speak to the engineer who will be standing in your kitchen — and you know the cost before any work starts.

Price agreed upfrontYou hear the cost after diagnosis and before any work begins. Nothing gets added afterwards.

Common questions

Washing machine repairs — before you book

The most common cause is a blocked pump filter, followed by a faulty drain pump or a kinked or blocked hose. We can usually diagnose it on-site and often fix it in one visit.
As a rule of thumb, if the repair costs less than a third of a like-for-like replacement and the machine is under about eight years old, repairing is usually the better value. We’ll tell you honestly if a machine isn’t worth saving.
Yes. Built-in and integrated washing machines are routine work for us.
We work on all major domestic brands including Bosch, Siemens, Neff, Miele, Samsung, LG, Hotpoint, Beko, Indesit, Smeg, AEG and Zanussi — plus most others. Tell us the make, model and fault when you call and we’ll bring the likely spares with us.
We keep same and next-day slots open wherever possible, seven days a week. The earlier in the day you call, the better the chance of being seen today.
Call us and we’ll explain exactly how the charge works before you commit to anything. You’ll always know the cost before we start work — no surprise invoices.
